It's Been Awhile!

It has been forever since I last blogged; believe me, I know! My baby is already six months old and growing like a weed. At his six month appointment on the 18th, Garret weighed in at 15lbs 10oz and 25 1/2 in long. He is now starting to eat baby food. So far we have given him rice cereal, which he doesn't like, and green beans, which he loves.

Garret is also really interactive nowadays. He is studying everything around him. He loves the outdoors so we take any opportunity we can get to go outside! He is also sitting up all by himself and rolling over all the time (still not crawling though)!

Nothing has really changed around here in awhile. Bryan's shop had a new guy check-in in January and it didnt take long before he and Bryan and his wife and I all became good friends! She is 30 wks preggo with her first, a little boy, so next year Garret will have a playmate!

We just got back home on Wednesday from our yearly vacation at the beach with my step-mom's famly. We had fun and enjoyed the time away f\but we are glad to be back to routine!

I have finally gotten into the routine of going for a two mile walk every morning and I have lost six pounds so far! I am very excited about losing all this baby weight and Garret loves being in the stroller looking at everything!

Garret is in his exersaucer watching the "Your baby Can Read Starter DVD." I have heard and seen many stories about how this video can help your baby to read. I was watching a home video on it and there was an eight month old reading the word "belly button" on the card and pointing to her bell button. You show the starter dvd to you baby everyday for a month then you move on to volume one. I am looking forward to seeing if it works for him.

That's all for now. I promise to not take so long to blog next time!

Have a wonderful and blessed day!

39 week appointment

Well...I just got back from my 39 week appointment. I told my doctor about the dizziness and seeing spots sometimes and she noticed that my blood pressure was pretty high these past few weeks ( today it was 140/90). She diagnosed me with Gestational Hypertension. I am supposed to go back on Friday to get checked and to see I am getting worse. If I am. they will probably induce. I am instructed to take it easy and do whatever I can from a chair. So basically I have to sit whenever possible. On a better note, I am dialating a little and my cervix is thinning!

Bryan started detailing cars at a dealership a couple of weeks ago. He is going about three times a week and doing about three cars in 6-7 hours. He has made about $240 so far! This money is going towards our vacations next year.

That's all for now, I will update everyone on Friday!

37 week appointment!

So I went back to the doctor yesterday and all they did was listen to his heartbeat and measure my belly. Everything is going smoothely. My belly measured 37 cm which is exactly what it should be and his heartbeat was at 156. That is a little higher than what it has been, but I drank some juice right before I left so that was probably why. He kept moving so it was hard for the doctor to find it and he kept kicking his hand. Bryan told me after we left that when he was doing that, Bryan was thinking "That's my boy!" Like father like son..lol! That's all for now!

Blah

Still no Garret! I am getting pretty impatient to say the least but I know he will be coming soon. I had my first weekly doctors appointment on Monday with yet again a new doctor. This one seems to know what he is doing unlike the last one. I was measuring at exactly what I should have been, which was 36 cm. When I went the time before, the other doctor said I was 32 cm. There was only a two week gap in between the two so my belly couldn't have grown that much.

Anyway, the doctor said that everything was looking great. My blood pressure was looking good along with my weight. I have gained almost 30lbs since I got pregnant, which isn't bad. He also did the Group B strep test. It was really weird because Bryan was in the room with me. To say the least, he was a little uncomfortable. He is going to have to get over that seeing as how is going to be in the delivery room...lol!

I can't wait for Garret to come out. I am getting so uncomfortable! I have been having Braxton Hicks like crazy and I am not sleeping well at all. I am guessing that the doctor will start checking for dialation at my next appointment on Monday. I am kind of eager to see if anything is happening yet.

That's all for now, but I will update on Monday after my appointment!

Random

So I really don't have very much to blog about.

I think that I am getting into the nesting stage. I want to get everything done that needs to get done before little Garrett arrives. I have made a list of everything that needs to get accomplished such as writing our birth plan, putting the car seat in the Rendezvous, finish washing all his clothes, clean house from top to bottom, pack my bags, etc. I am really hoping he comes soon! I am getting so uncomfortable! My doctor said that I will be full term this Saturday, but I will only be 35 weeks. I thought full term was 37 weeks.

This weekend, Bryan's sister Kim and her family and Karyn, are coming to visit for a few days. Kim is going to put together some meals that we can put in the freezer and heat up when Garrett comes (I greatly appreciate this). Saturday, Bryan and I are going to clean up the house and then go to Golden Corral. I have been craving Golden Corral for the past two weeks now. While we are out, we are going to go to the hospital to pre-register.

That's all I have for now. Blog again later!

Stuffy Stuff

This past weekend was pretty uneventful. On Sunday, Bryan and I went to church, Wendy's, then came home and watched football and some movies. After the movie, we went for our daily walk. Every morning, we go for a walk on a trail that goes around base housing. It is about a two and a half mile walk starting and ending at our house. Hopefully walking like this will help later on with getting little Garret to come out sooner.

Last Thursday, Bryan and I had our last child birth prep class. The week before, we got to see the labor and delivery rooms and the post-partum rooms. This hospital is very old fashioned. The labor and delivery rooms have two beds in them, so hopefully there aren't a bunch of women giving birth the day I do! They also don't have tubs in the labor and delivery room but they have a jacuzzi tub for after you give birth. This does not make any sense to me!

I went yesterday for my epidural consultation. I wasn't going to but when my doctor asked if I had yet and I told her I didn't think I was going to, she told me that she wanted me to anyway. She said that it is just for safety precautions and that if I ha to have an emergancy c-section or something, that it would be dangerous for them to give me one without knowing my medical history or anything about me. So they have a paper on file at the hospital now just in case.

Bryan's birthday and other stuff!

Bryan's birthday was quite a fun day. We were just going to hang out at home and order pizza and just hang out, but our friends wanted to go out to a Japanese Steakhouse with us before they left (he deployed to Iraq yesterday and she went home). Anyway, it was amazing. There is a big grill type thing with a table and eight chairs around it. The chef cooks everything in front of you. He does different tricks and stuff with the cooking tools and also flicks things to see if you can catch it in your mouth. They make it a pretty fun experience. While the chef was making our food, a gentleman comes up and sits next to Bryan. I didn't hear what he was saying because I was talking to Liz. After the man leaves Bryan told me that he paid for ours and our friends' meals. When we left the restaurant, he told us what the man said. He basically told Bryan that he could tell that he and our friend Jason were in the military and he was thankful for them serving and that he heard it was Bryan's birthday. Liz, Jason and I didn't get a chance to thank the gentleman and Bryan guessed that he didn't want a lot of attention. One day when we are able to, I want to be able to do that for someone.

While we were still eating dinner, our chef asked if we were out celebrating anything. Liz and I pointed out that it was Bryan's birthday. Later on after dinner, the staff came out with a drum. They said that they were going to sing him a song and he had to stand up on his chair and if he danced, he would get a year of good luck. He ended up dancing and what a sight it was...lol!!

After we left the restaurant, we decided to go putt-putting. for old times sake. I could definitely tell that I am getting a lot bigger because I had to have someone get my ball out of the hole every time because I couldn't bend over.

My sister got into a car accident. Thank goodness she is ok! They were coming up towards the railroad tracks on Maish I think, and a lady slammed on her brakes. It turns out that a kid on a moped was trying to turn left and the lady didn't see him. Meghan says that she didn't see any brakes lights on the lady's car but no one checked. Anyway, her air bag ended up deploying and her car is undriveable. My step-dad is flying out here on Sunday to come get the van because they are now out a vehicle. Thank goodness Meghan and Chelsea are both ok.
