Something amazing!

Nothing new has really happened since the last time I blogged, so this post might be a bit on the short side.

Last night, our friends Rachel and Josh received some money back from their move down here. This was awesome for them because they have been having some money problems. They decided that for once that they wanted to go out to dinner for a date and asked us if we wanted to join them. After we got back from the commissary, we headed out. They wanted to go to Olive Garden, but the one closest to us wasn't opened up yet, so we decided to go to Applebee's instead. While we were looking over our menus, there was an older couple who was just getting their's. Rachel though that the older gentleman's looked really good, so she asked him what it was. He told her and said " Don't order it, I won't finish this and you can have the rest of it. Throughout the meal, they were kind of making different comments toward each other. After the couple was finished with their meal, the gentleman came up to us and asked Josh and Bryan " Are you two from here in Havelock?" They both said "Yes sir." the man said " Thank you for your service." He then laid $80 in 20's down on the table and said " I would like to pay for your meals." After we thanked him and he walked away, we were all dumbfounded. When he had gotten back to his table, Rachel and I told him thank you again. He said " Your welcome, I was in the military several years ago and we were struggling back then. I know that Uncle Sam still doesn't pay you enough." He then suggested a dessert to us. We said goodbye to this gentleman and his wife and we were still in awe. Rachel told Josh " this is proof that God is taking care of us." I was almost in tears and Rachel was in tears.

This man made me realize that there are still caring, kindhearted people out there who still appreciate the military and what they do for us. God lead us to Applebee's for the purpose of meeting this gentleman! I will never forget him! It makes me want to go out and do this for someone, kind of like what the boy started in the movie Pay it Foward.

God is AMAZING isn't He!
